Santa Cruz Heckler 9 ebike

Following extensive investigation and testing, it was discovered that a small number of batteries supplied with certain Heckler 9 ebikes manufactured between before February 2023 may be at an increased risk of an electrical short circuit. In very rare instances, this may pose a fire hazard resulting in a risk of injury or damage to property.

What to do

1. Consumers should immediately stop using the ebike and disconnect the battery from the Heckler 9 ebike and charger.2. Check if your battery is affected by following the instructions [within the consumer communication or] on the Santa Cruz Bicycles' recall page: https://santacruzbicycles.com/pages/recall-heckler-9-lithium-ion-battery . If affected, register to receive a replacementbattery when one becomes available. If your battery is not affected you may resume the use of your ebike. Please dispose of affected batteries in accordance with local requirements. Do not put them in household waste.*Remember to remove the downtube cover before disposing of your battery as you will need the cover when you receive your replacement battery.3. Please contact Santa Cruz Bicycle if you have sold or gifted it to another person, and forward this information.
