The product poses a high risk of injuries as the maximum speed of the electric motor exceeds 25 km/h, using only a thumb throttle, which could cause harm to a pedestrian if an accident were to occur. The applicable standard (BS EN 15194:2017) requires that two independent applying actions shall be required to start the electrical assistance mode (e.g. power switch and forward pedalling activation). The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
